Vores projektaftale er nu godkendt og vi er officielt i gang med specialet, der på nuværende tidspunkt har arbejdstitlen ‘Familier & teknologi.’
Nedenfor ses en kopi af projektaftalen.
Projektbeskrivelse:
The ubiquity of computers and the possibility to be ‘always on’ has led to increased use of digital and interactive technologies in everyday life.
Interaction design is shaping digital things for people’s use, by designing products that support the way we act, not only by making practices possible but by providing a pleasurable and satisfying experience of using technology. Interactive technologies can, among other things, improve communication, learning, entertainment, etc. and are today an integrated part of our everyday life.
On the other hand, technologies are criticized for having too much influence on the behaviour and mental health of the user. For example, Brandon McDaniel has coined the term ‘technoference’ to describe the phenomenon of technology’s interference with everyday life, e.g. due to an overuse of the smartphone.
As the design of new technologies will change how we act in the world, we want to investigate peoples’ perception of their use of technologies and how it has evolved.
The project limits to focus on how the interaction and experience of technology in a family home has evolved over the last three decades.
Metode
The project is conducted as historical research of families’ experience and interaction with interactive technologies. The data will include primary sources consisting of families from different generations, and literature of related work.
Based on the data, we aim to present a forecast of technology’s future role in the family.
